The Fonbient project is dedicated to creating sound canvases and collages using "controlled randomness".

We created a sound experiment in which our friends and caring authors kindly took part. Everyone provided their own sound fragments. Next, sound arrangement schemes and parameters that were affected by randomness were generated.

The project involved:

Tracks:

1. parad and other

This collage is a parade of samples with minor variations.
The full playback cycle is divided into 12 phrases. There are standard phrases that include 30 time intervals (it can be seconds, minutes, various divisions of the sequencer grid, etc.). In them, samples are played in three layers.

There are also phrases containing a single layer with a randomly dropped sample. This is every third phrase.
The parameter d = duration is entered, with a range from 3 to 8 segments. The transition to the next phrase is not possible.

2. Duration pitch revers

The cycle includes 14 phrases.
Parameters are entered:
d= duration of samples and pauses (from 1 to 8 sound segments)
p= pitch (from -12 to 0 )
R= reverse
x = pause or not playing (for layer)
The transition of samples to the next phrase is not possible.
The number of layers is also determined randomly and is in the range from 2 to 3.
